If you use the bbpress SEO Tools from our website, then is this sitemap plugin for you! This plugin generates nodes for exactly the same URLs which get marked as "Index" with the SEO tools. There is also some function to create different priorities and frequencies for topics which are older and/or have more replies and posts. The plugin is based on the XML sitemap plugin from Rich Boakes.
Let Google find all your forums topic pages even if they have multiple sub-pages!
Installation
- Don't use this plugin if your permalink type is NOT name based!
- Download the plugin here.
- Upload the file google-sitemap.php into the /my-plugins/ directory
If you don't have a /my-plugins/ directory in your bbpress installation, just create one in your bbpress root directory. - Login as an administrator and activate the plugin via Site Management -> Plugins
- Create an empty XML file in your websites root, call it "sitemap.bb.xml" and chmod the file with 644 or if needed 666
Configuration
- You don't need to configure this plugin, maybe you like to change the default values for frequency or priority (check the plugin file to do this).
- Submit your sitemap via the Google webmaster tools.
